Look, first, whoever boogeyman is, please stop. Everyone is getting riled up, over nothing. People make some sense here, because there has been no posting here from you other than that, and I am not even sure who you are at my site. There is no reason to compete. Let's keep our heads, and let it go.

I agree with whomever it was that posted that competing is pointless. At the end of the day, many GD forums will exist, and that benefits all. Each site has things that are of benefit to other heads, etc. Slamming sites, or members, or posting ridiculous posts, what does it accomplish? It is pretty lame.

At the same time, I would ask that if someone here posts about an alternative, such as my site, or deadhook, they and it not be trashed out of hand. Is this really a lot to ask? I can't set rules, I ask this of a common courtesy. People who post such things are only trying to be helpful, not to steal a seemingly perceived limited amount of posters.

Now that I have done my equivalent of a Rodney King moment, and that is all I have to say about that, let the music play...

kochman though I agree with you in principle, it is hard not to take a competitve stance when "agents"(not saying they are official representatives) of your site continuously tout it as being "better"(a very subjective analysis)and/or directly attack members of this site. To your credit, I have not seen you participate in such behavoir and you have more than once decried connection with said actions. I have lurked "over there" and there are some familiar faces. I won't try to rate Dead sites as that has been done to death during the LMA/Deadhook wars.

You make good points.

And, it does bother me that posting another site here always leads to wars. When I used to post about my site, I would get similar lashings from people. That is pretty much why I stopped posting about it here, just gave up. You could say I surrendered.

Anyone who says they're an "agent" has given themselves that title, probably in jest. There are no agents.

Hey Bill--just curious: is the defined period for the LMA/Hook war?

sometimes it seems to be a continuing saga

and then again it may be a figment of several overactive imaginations

Listening for the secret, searching for the sound
But I could only hear the preacher and the baying of his hounds
